Know About The Different Power Of Attorney Lawyers

Power of attorney is one of the important legal documents that gives someone authority to make decisions for you or act on your behalf, if you are no longer in a state to do so or if you don’t want to do. This moment may arise for you:

  •  If you are in a temporary situation where you cannot take the decision.
  • If you want to make long-term planning. For if you are diagnosed with the ini8t8ial stage of Alzheimer's.

Mental capacity is the ability of the person to make decisions, understand why to make them and the outcome of the decision made by them. Some people might face health diseases where their ability to make decisions might change slowly.

There are various types of power attorney lawyer and each one is required for different circumstances:

  • A non-durable power of attorney: This power of attorney has limited time to act on your behalf for a specific transaction. When the transaction is completed, the non-durable power of attorney ceases.
  • A durable power of attorney: A durable power of attorney is set up to allow the agent to act on the behalf of the principal when the latter becomes incapacitated to take the decisions. There is no limitation period here and also the agent has the authority to act on whatever is assigned to them.
  • Medical Power attorney: The agent is assigned to act on the medical and health decisions of the principal.
  • Springing power of attorney: This arises when the principal is not available and the situation demands some decisions to be taken on the behalf of the principal.
  • Limited power of attorney: It is used for a limited period say only once. For example, to deal with a particular property.

Any cases related to the above circumstances are dealt with by the power attorney lawyer specialized in that particular area.
